- Liebherr-Aerospace will welcome visitors at its booth C-M65 at Changi Exhibition Centre in Singapore
- Innovative solutions already available today for tomorrow’s commercial aircraft platforms
- More sustainable customer service at Liebherr-Singapore Pte Ltd
Toulouse (France)/Singapore, January 2026 – The aviation industry is in the middle of a significant transformation fueled by the drive to reduce emissions and the integration of digital ecosystems across the entire value chain, while simultaneously preparing for the development of the next generation of aircraft with redefined aerodynamic concepts and propulsion technologies. With innovation at its core, Liebherr-Aerospace is actively shaping these challenging changes to ensure timely readiness for the future.
During the 10th edition of the Singapore Airshow from February 3 to 8, 2026, the company will showcase its innovative solutions across the entire life cycle, from new products and technologies as well as for the aftermarket. Customers, partners and interested visitors are welcome to discover cutting-edge technologies at the Liebherr booth C-M65.
Leader in the development of electromechanical actuators
Liebherr-Aerospace has become a leader in the research and development of electromechanical actuators (EMA) for medium as well as large commercial aircraft and has recently added smaller actuators to its portfolio.
The new concept addresses the AAM (Advanced Air Mobility) sector and also covers light aircraft, business jets and helicopters. Liebherr’s EMA family concept benefits from the experience gained during the past decades from millions of flight hours in numerous aircraft programs with actuators and associated electronics. The selected development approach offers scalability for small installation spaces, a favorable power-to-weight ratio and high reliability.
Unbeaten reliability for commercial applications
At Singapore Airshow 2026, Liebherr will also highlight one of its most iconic products: the air cycle machine with air bearing technology developed by Liebherr. These turbo machines are the core of air-conditioning packs that ensure a safe and comfortable cabin environment for passengers and crews. Air cycle machines used to be pneumatically driven but the next generation will likely be electrically or mechanically powered.
Long wingspan with folding mechanism for improved aerodynamics
Innovative designs of thinner and longer wings support more CO2-efficient flying. Liebherr offers reliable folding mechanisms that enable aerodynamically optimized wing designs and will show a moving model
(scale 1:6) demonstrating how the tip of a long wing can be folded upward to better fit the airport infrastructure.
Swift and sustainable customer service on site
Liebherr-Singapore Pte Ltd is Liebherr’s dedicated service center in the Asia-Pacific region. Constant investments in the extension of its in-house MRO activities ensure timely availability of Liebherr’s in-region MRO services for components. Thus, its customers in the APAC region will benefit from better repair turnaround times due to avoidance of overseas shipments of repair components which will help in parallel to significantly reduce related carbon emissions. The latest capability expansion in Singapore includes the commissioning of a new high performance hydraulic test cell as well as the establishment of a fully competent repair and overhaul facility for heat transfer equipment.
REACh compliant process at service centers in Asia
In December 2025, Liebherr-Aerospace has reached a major milestone in Singapore: the successful MRO industrialization of an advanced TCS/PACS protection coating process on heat transfer equipment components. TCS (Trivalent Chromium System) enhances corrosion resistance as well as paint adhesion and PACS (Post Application Conversion Sealer) seals and reinforces the protective layer for long-term durability. Together, they deliver performance on par with legacy coatings without the environmental drawbacks.
The coating process complies with REACh, i.e. the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals, a regulation of the European Union, adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by certain chemicals. Compliance requires the substitution of traditional chromium-based treatments by more environmentally friendly alternatives.
In line with Liebherr-Aerospace’s global customer service strategy, further service centers will follow, such as the facility in Shanghai (China), which is working on introducing REACh-compliant processes as well in the first quarter of 2026. This is also the case for third-party sites that repair Liebherr-Aerospace products under license.
